22 Maps That Show How Americans Speak English Totally Differently From Each Other
via moosespringsteen

Pop forever, soda never.
PS I’m a little offended that there’s no teeny little circle over SW PA on the “y’all” map for “yinz”.

When I first moved to Milwaukee, I was really confused as to what a bubbler was. I kept hearing people talk about the, but could never find one, and people gave me really weird looks when I asked where the drinking fountain was. That is until one of my professors started talking about the different names certain things are called and explained. Chicago is always ‘The City,’ and don’t even get me started on the Pop thing.

BUBBLER FOR LIFE, BUBBLER UNTIL I DIIIIIE.

Fun Fact: The only other place you can find a bubbler occasionally is Boston. The company that first made them called them bubblers, and their trade route went around the Great Lakes and pretty straight through to Boston

I have this one body,
that houses my soul.
I have this one life,
that has been set before me.
And you better bet
I will tear down these walls
and build anew
so that I may live
In peace.
